Word from our founder.

I am often asked the following two questions. Why did you open a waxing studio? How did you come up with your business name? Both of those are easy and were determined pre-pandemic. They were so easy. I saw a need in my community and I knew I was the right person to fill it. The studio started to take shape on my vision board while a business plan took form in my office. It took three years. Three years of planning, saving, building until I was ready to speak it into actual existence. I remember when I told first few friends and family. There were so many mixed emotions with one standing out above the rest, excitement.

I love to travel and am always looking at various cities around the world, thinking of where I’d like to someday go and visit. My family has some Turkish roots, even though we are very Bosnian, I’ve always wanted to visit. When you think Turkey, two cities stand out and one of those is Adana, Turkey. I am so intrigued by this city. She is over 8000 years old! . I love the name, history, food, practices but I chose to name my business Adana because of the sheer perseverance of the city. Adana, Turkey has survived so much and is thriving today. When I chose the name I never imagined that my business would endure such challenges and tribulations in our infancy, much like the namesake city did.

Did you know that 60% of new businesses fail in the first three years? How many new businesses do you think died off due to Covid-19 pandemic? They’ve recently said that 1/3 of all small businesses in United States have closed their doors during the pandemic. For my little place to not only survive, but thrive is astounding. I am incredibly humbled, grateful and amazed at how fantastic this community is. I am especially proud of my staff, for learning with me, growing with me and helping me build this business.

I’d like to take this opportunity to let you, our clients, know how grateful I am. Thank you for giving us a chance. Thank you for coming back after we closed for Covid-19. Thank you for telling your friends and family about our business. Thank you for trusting us to do a good job. Thank you for the support and care. I will be forever grateful and am looking forward to many more years of Adana Waxing Studio.
